Overview
As Catholics, we are facing a critical time. With scandal in the church, a crisis of confidence has shaken many. As members of the Body of Christ, the actions of part of the Body affect the whole Body—when one part is ailing and suffering, we all suffer. This period of great crisis calls for great holiness.
Healing the Body of Christ offers a timely and much-needed response for our Church to move beyond the abuse crisis. It offers a special six-week season for priests and parishes to address key themes of healing, forgiveness and reconciliation.
The themes center on the Church’s teachings on the Body of Christ—how its members’ actions impact this Body and how the Body can be healed and brought to greater holiness by God through the gifts of Scripture, the Eucharist and other sacraments.
“Our archdiocese focused on renewing our parishes and our people. I happily recommend the special segment RENEW has prepared to help dioceses respond.”
Archbishop Michael Sheehan, Archbishop of Santa Fe
